COYOTE is a community partnership dedicated to youth development and employment.
The COYOTE mission is to help youth develop into outstanding citizens who are responsible and productive members of the workforce. In fulfilling this mission, COYOTE addresses the stated needs of many community and business leaders for:
Access to employees (current and future) |
Improved employability skills and work ethics in the workforce |
Overall economic health and quality of life for citizens |
Community-building throughout Mohave and La Paz counties |
COYOTE is coordinated through Mohave County One-Stop Centers. The program builds on Workforce Investment Act (WIA) performance requirements and funding, providing work readiness skills and job placement for in-school and out-of-school (drop-outs and graduates) youth ages 14 through 24. However, the success of COYOTE relies on community members who join the COYOTE and provide summer jobs, projects, services, and funding to sponsor youth participants in the program.
COYOTE expands to serve as many youth as possible based on resources available. All funds donated to the program are used to pay for youth work experiences and direct work-related training costs. All sponsors and participants are recognized by the Board of Supervisors and in newsletters and other publicity.
The benefits are clear: COYOTE advances youth opportunities for employment and personal growth by:
developing and enhancing youth program options, |
leveraging the resources of diverse organizations and individuals through partnerships and sponsorship opportunities, and |
building relationships that bring people and organizations together over the long term regarding youth initiatives. |
Like so many great things, COYOTE relies on community members who care and take part. So contact the Mohave County One-Stop Centers to find out how you can.

What's WIA?
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is a federally-funded job training program that serves youth and adults with employment, training, and other services. WIA is the sponsoring program joining other COYOTE partners to create diverse and enriched youth employment options.
COYOTE job placement options funded by WIA will are available to WIA-eligible applicants only. To have access to the widest array of job placement options, we recommend that all COYOTE applicants complete WIA eligibility intake screening.
